At Dr. R. Mokbel Clinic we use ND: Yag Laser as we are able to penetrate to certain depths to help treat Thread Veins, Vascular Lesions like Cherry Haemangioma and Venous Lakes.
The Nd: YAG laser is specifically designed to be absorbed and target deeper levels of the dermis to treat vascular lesions by destroying the blood vessel walls and in turn making the blood coagulate. This is then absorbed by the body and removed.
Q. Is the treatment painful?
A. You will experience some discomfort during the laser treatment, however this will subside quickly once the area has been treated.
Q. How many treatments will I need for vascular lesions?
A. Depending on the individual lesions will depend on how many sessions you require to have. You will be able to see results from as little as one session but your therapist may require you to come back for further sessions to get the desired results.
Q. Is the treatment safe?
A. Yes, Nd: YAG is a medical-grade machine and we always ask our clients to come in for a free consultation before we treat to ensure that they are suitable for the treatment.
Q. What aftercare is required following Nd YAG treatments?
A. Avoid Sun exposure for a minimum of 4 weeks and ensure you are wearing SPF. We recommend Heliocare which we stock in clinic.
Q. Is there any downtime?
A. Yes, we say usually a minimum of 48 hours downtime following this treatment.
