Prof. Ramia Mokbel

Professor Mokbel holds a prominent position as an esteemed authority in the field of aesthetic medicine. Her outstanding expertise had earned her the prestigious role of an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Queen Mary University's MSC Aesthetic Medicine program in London.

During her tenure she specialised in lasers and various energy-based devices such as radiofrequency and lasers. Professor Mokbel's expertise has uniquely extended to a comprehensive array of medical aesthetic treatments. This includes the administration of botulinum toxins and dermal fillers, as well as evidence-based procedures for skin rejuvenation and regeneration.

Notably, she offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, chemical peels, microneedling, Mesotherapy, and diamond microdermabrasion. These treatments have been extensively proven to deliver remarkable results in reversing the effects of ageing and minimising the appearance of scars and sun-damage.

Professor Mokbel’s medical specialisation lies in the field of moles and skin cancers for which she has dedicated her expertise to running her most unique consultant-led mole mapping. This expertise has been diligently honed during her tenure at St Mary's Hospital, a prominent institution within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, where she contributed as a substantive consultant.

Additionally, Professor Ramia Mokbel was bestowed the esteemed title of honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College, London until December 2020. Since 2022, Professor Mokbel has taken up the prestigious role of an academic professor at Brunel University London. Specifically, she is affiliated with the department of Research and Digital Sciences, where her focus lies in investigating the potential medical benefits of cryotherapy for various skin conditions including skin cancers.

Professor Mokbel has completed her dermatology training at the best teaching hospitals in London including Barts NHS Trust and the Royal Free Hospitals. She was awarded a distinction in postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology at Queen Mary University of London in July 2012. She received her medical postgraduate training at several of UK’s most renowned teaching hospitals including John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, the London Chest Hospital, and the Royal London Hospital. Notably, Professor Mokbel has contributed significantly to the field through the publication of numerous essential and peer-reviewed research papers. Additionally, she honed her surgical expertise and techniques during an esteemed research fellowship in oncoplastic breast surgery at St George's Hospital in London, spanning from 2004 to 2006.
